Erzählcafe is a project organized by Arbeit and bidlung, Marburg and supported by APC Kassel. The coordinator Herr Steffen Rink did a nice job with his co-workers.  It is to create awareness on the relationship between the foreigners who came to Germany seeking for jobs and the employment office / employers in Germany. This has been one of the activities of APC to help foreigners integrate in the labour market. It took place at Kunst Werkstatt Am Weinberg, Heckerstraße 30b, 34121 Kassel on the 3rd of Dec. 2013. Two out of the three speakers were volunteers from APC Kassel ( Mr Agoro Solomon and Mr Balogun Momodu ). Among the audience were representatives of Arbeitsamt (employment office) Kassel, members of Arbeit und bildung Marburg, members of APC Kassel, members of Turkish organization and individuals from general public.

There were cordial discussions on different experiences of different individuals with different visa status in Germany. In general, foreigners have difficulties in securing jobs in Germany both directly with Arbeitsamt and employers alike.
Part of the problems on employer’s side has to do with the norms of the society while some staffs of Arbeitsamt used to drag their feet in assisting those foreigners. One of the representatives of Arbeitsamt acknowledged the fact that there used to be unnecessary rejections to some foreign workers from Arbeitsamt staffs but advised that the foreigner must request such rejections to be given in a written paper (should there be any).

The atmospheric condition and organizational maturity of this project gave room for people to acquire some knowledge from other‘s experiences. APC Kassel wish to continue her good work in partnership with other bodies like Arbeit und Bildung e. V. Marburg. Such project has proven to be educative to the public. General public can contact APC if they have questions on the labour market. Report by Mr. Agoro Solomon, Secretary General
