THE ECONOMIC IMPACT OF IMMIGRATION ON KASSEL, GERMANY: AN OBSERVATION

Awojobi, Oladayo Nathaniel University of Applied Sciences Bonn-Rhein-Sieg Department of Social Security, Sankt Augustin,

The study intended to examine the impact of immigration on the Kassel city, Germany. While there is extensive literature on the causes of migration and its economic effects, this study investigates the correlation between immigration and the economic impact on the host city. A qualitative approach through participant observation and a non-participant observation were adopted for the study. The inquiry from the inside and outside along with previously published studies were used to evaluate the impact of immigration in the city of Kassel. Based on the inquiry from the inside and outside, the study found sufficient evidence of an empirically significant impact of immigration in the city of Kassel. Use of observation methods in qualitative research is a powerful approach in examining the impact of immigration in the host country. Through this approach, this study was able to pinpoint the policy implications for the city council of Kassel, Germany. Read more!
